Vieja, Viejo Together

January 1st, 2022

It would have been great if we grew old together.
Vieja, Viejo together.
Slowed together.
Grayed together.
Wrinkled together.
Hobbled down the street together.
Stayed together.
Vieja, Viejo together.

It would have been great if we grew old together.
Vieja, Viejo together.
Slowed together.
Grayed together.
Wrinkled together.
Hobbled down the street together.
Stayed together.
It would have been great if we grew old together.
Vieja, Viejo together.

When Life Was Good

January 1st, 2022

When life was good.
Didn’t have to wear a hood.
I lived indoors.
Had a life.
Had a wife.
We laughed.
We joked.
When life was good.
Didn’t have to wear a hood.

When life was good.
Didn’t have to wear a hood.
I sang.
I danced.
I laughed.
I joked.
When life was good.
Didn’t have to wear a hood.
Those days went by fast.
Now just memories of the past.
When life was good.

When life was good.
Didn’t have to wear a hood.
I lived indoors.
Had a life.
Had a wife.
We laughed.
We joked.
When life was good.

When life was good.
Before the streets.
Before the cold.
Before I had to wear a hood.
When life was good.

Voices In Your Head

January 1st, 2022

When the voices in your head get to loud.
Slow em down.
Drown em out.
Try to forget.

When the voices in your head get to loud.
Turn the music up.
Close your eyes.
Move to the sounds.
Try to forget.

When the voices in your head get to loud.
Slow em down.
Drown em out.
Try to forget.

When the voices in your head get to loud.
Turn the music up.
Close your eyes.
Move to the sounds.
Try to forget.
When the voices in your head get to loud.

Hooded Sweatshirts in The Hood

January 1st, 2022

Hooded sweatshirts in the hood,
standing on the street corner.
New sneakers, baggy jeans.
Hooded sweatshirts in the hood,
standing on the street corner.
Abandon buildings. Barred doors.
Payphones, Fire hydrants.
Hooded sweatshirts in the hood,
standing on the street corner.
Five and Dimes, Bicycles.
Flashing lights.
Hooded sweatshirts in the hood,
standing on the street corner.
New sneakers, baggy jeans.
Hooded sweatshirts in the hood,
standing on the street corner.

Writing, Thoughts 2022, V2

Writing, Thoughts 2022, V2

Walking in the ocean where the waves mesh with the sand. An early morning bike ride, stopping over a river, watching the fish jump out of the water. Wild horses running through a field. Art is beautiful. The art of war isn’t. Late nights, midnight snacks, flirtatious chats. Christmas lights in the city, ever so pretty. Bright stars, deep within the night sky. Lounging, holding another tight within your arms, held tight within another’s arms. Warm bodies. Kind words. Sensual scents. Heartbeats. Thriving, striving, alive, spontaneous, laughing, living, yearning, flirting. Long hair, summer dresses blowing lightly from a cool ocean breeze. Pedaling a bike through slow moving traffic on a busy city street. Messenger bags. Duffel bags, Leather shoulder strap purses.
