Writing, Thoughts 2022 V2

Closed vintage industrial brick factories, vintage boxing gyms, windowsills, windowsill caffes. A lot of things go unsaid. Speaking the truth, speaking against society sometimes has worse consequences than telling a lie. Deception, lies, human’s showing their ugliest side. Critical mass bicycle rides. Watcha ya doing? Doing good things. Eggnog Christmas morning. There’s usually a solution. Let’s get things situated. What’s your story? Steam whistles from a pot of water boiling atop an antique wood stove. Restless in bed, rain falls rapidly. Bikes, Buses, Beaches, Boardwalks, Books and Baseball, Writing and Riding. A bird sits high above chirping upon a branch. Denim Jackets, Leather Jackets, Leather Couches, Pedestrian only streets.

The Power Of Words

September 14th, 2022
The Power Of Words

Words describe, explain, express, convey. Words tell stories. Words bring joy and sorrow. Words come in all sizes, shapes and forms. Caring, thoughtful, honest and kind. Anger scathing, anguish and rude. Written from feelings, derived from life. Some written with desperation. Others with love. Words put what’s on the inside out. Thoughts, feelings, ideas and notes. Some words are written not to forget. Some with regret. Some with joy. Some words are jumbled, written under stress. Some to vent. Others to teach. Books are written, stories are told. Days are described. In a journal they go. Some go live, in a blog or newspaper. Some written to deceive, written with malice and anger. Some written from being deceived, written from pain within. Some written with passion, showing a person’s deepest feelings within.

Reading a good book. A kiss. Internet Caffe’s. Fitness Festivals. Diversity, Culture, Unique Cultures. A cool breeze during a warm day. Live music. Smiling from the inside. Browsing through the magazines of a magazine stand. Watching a favorite tv show from years past, the image quality is average at best, yet the show is as good as the memories previously instilled.

The Fair: A Whimsical Atmosphere

September 14th, 2022
Ode To The Fair

A place where Christmas lights flash during Spring Summer and Fall. Scents of tasty food fill the air, for miles and miles. Fried Dough is served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Ice Cream parlors are found at almost every corner. People of all ages play games, ride rides, all day, deep into the night. Music, laughing, amusements, and thrills only add to the whimsical atmosphere.

There’s more to the allure, Tractor Pulls, Bumper Cars, Traipse Artist, Art Exhibits, Petting Zoos and Clowns. They’re found all over the world: Fairs, Expos, Carnivals, and Amusement parks. They move from town to town, city to city. You’ll have to be quick. Don’t miss out. They only last a jiff.

She Dances Alone

September 14th, 2022
She Dances Alone

Wearing skintight jeans and Wayfarers, without a smile or frown, in the middle of the dance floor, she dances alone.
Bodies all around. Sounds, flashing lights.
In the middle of the dance floor she dances alone.
Spotlights, horns sound, base pounds.
Two records spin. Noise everywhere. Yet not a sound.

I Don’t Remember Her Name

I don’t remember her name, just a night of excite, delight.
Spirited conversations, kind thoughts.
Flirtatious smiles, Soothing scents.
Steam filled the air. Intimacy, Temptation.
I don’t remember her name, just a night of excite, delight.

The 1980’s Were 30 Years Ago

January 1st, 2022

As of 2020, the 1980’s were 30 years ago. For many of us, the decade is difficult to forget.

The 80’s represent energy, Boomboxes, Breakdancing, Legwarmers, Headbands, Nightclubs, Skating Rinks, Saturday Morning Cartoons, MTV, Supercars, Arcades, Rae Bans, Heavy Metal Rock Bands and much more.

The 1980’s represent freedom. Freedom of speech. The type of freedom allowing a person to be themselves and express themselves without many of the consequences people often face from society today. Though, what I feel the 1980’s represent most is creativity. More cool, unique things were introduced in the 1980’s than any other decade I’ve either lived through or learnt about.

Supercars became a thing in the 80’s. 80’s music became a thing. Many of the tunes introduced in the 80’s are still played today. Boomboxes, Breakdancing, Legwarmers, Computers, Video Games, Saturday Morning Cartoons and Rae Bans all became things in the 1980’s. Things many of us still enjoy today.

Atari came to life in the 1980’s. The 80’s started a video gaming boom, loud enough to keep the industry booming to this very day.

Computers were introduced to the general public in the 1980’s. Many who lived through the 80’s have exceptionally good memories of the Commodore 64, early IBM and Apple computers.

During the 80’s most didn’t have to worry about hacking. Heck, I don’t even think I knew what computer hacking was till the early 1990’s. People didn’t have to worry about others intruding on their enjoyment of life. The 80’s offered a sense of freeness.

The 1980’s were also responsible for one of the greatest sports stories in history. The 1980 men’s Olympic hockey team. Nothing screams 80’s louder than a story about an unknown team or person going from the unknown to greatness.

Though, the decade wasn’t without issues. There was plenty of violence. There was drug abuse. I’m not talking about recreational drugs. Some of the drugs many used in the 80’s were much more destructive. Drugs that weren’t good. Drugs I don’t feel represented the decade.

Luckily, I didn’t see the corrupt side of the 1980’s. By the mid 1980’s I was 11. At 11, it’s difficult to see the bad. Even today, I know those things only represented a small percentage of the decade. A decade I remember today, 30 years later, with great fondness.

Writing, Thoughts 2022

Writing Thoughts, 2022

Pancakes with blueberry toppings. When I’ve got nothing to write, I write about nothing. Then, I’ve got something to write about. Compassion, tact, Russian Blue Cats, Rabbits. Anger, jerks. There are people in this world worthy of the word hate. There are things in this world so horrific, they’re unforgivable. There aren’t any winners in war, only losers. There isn’t any art in war. There are good things in this world. Good conversations, smoothies, fairs, prayers, God. Walking under the moonlight and stars on a brisk city night. Cool things from the past, Pagers, Typewriters, Service Merchandise, Bradlees, Saturday Morning Cartoons, the 1980’s. Dave and Busters, book store cafes.
Birds chirping early in the morning.
